Karen’s professional life began in the children’s clothing industry where she worked her way up from selling door to door to successfully launching her own divisions. Her work included travelling to Europe, New York City and to California seeking the upcoming trends and working with her design & sales teams to execute new ideas and bring them successfully to the market across Canada and the United States. Threaded into that career was Karen’s love of singing, which led her to participate in a string of local theatre productions some of which involved travelling to perform in major cities in Canada, United States and Europe. You can still occasionally find Karen on a stage.
After a hiatus during her children’s teenage years, Karen’s love of interior design and passion for architecture led her to embark on a second career in real estate in 2001 beginning with Remax Westmount. In 2007, Karen joined Sotheby’s International Realty Quebec, who had recently launched their brand in Montreal. Karen felt her marketing approach and values were a perfect fit with the Sotheby’s brand and was one of the first group of brokers to join the company.
As a result of her warm and effective approach, Karen has developed a strong network of new and returning clients and referrals from satisfied customers. As an experienced broker with a fabulous support team, Karen consistently maintains a top-tier position at Sotheby’s representing both local and international clientele.
Whether you are buying or selling, you will benefit from Karen’s knowledge and dedication, as well as the prestige of the Sotheby’s brand. Karen strives every day to ensure that each client and every property receives the attention and service that she would want for herself. Rest assured that Karen and her team, along with the power and dominance of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand, are committed to exceptional marketing and exposure, regardless of price point.
Formerly of Westmount, Karen has now lived for over twenty years in the downtown Golden Square Mile, is the proud mother of two and a new grandmother of a baby boy. Other interests include theatre, interior design, art and politics.
Karen looks forward to helping you to reach your real estate goals!
Growing up in a bilingual household, on the Westmount flats, Ariane was exposed to the real estate industry at an early age and is proud to be a, third-generation real estate broker in her family. Her great-greatgrandfather, John Henry Hand, was also a prominent builder specializing in Westmount and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce homes.
Ariane obtained her French baccalaureate in Economics and Social Sciences from Collège International Marie-de-France. Being passionate about many, subjects, and having a curious attitude towards life, Ariane decided to study Humanities and Communications at McGill University, with a specialization in Art History, which gave her a keen sense of aesthetics. She then obtained a post-graduate degree at McGill University in Public Relations, subsequently moving to New York City to pursue her love of fashion where she obtained a degree in Fashion Marketing at Parsons School of Design. Ariane worked for Topshop and Anne Fontaine in the fast-paced fashion world of Manhattan, before returning to her hometown of Montreal, and has experience in sales, public relations, marketing and operations management.
One of Ariane’s professors once described her as a tranquil force: a person who is both calm and patient, but also determined, resilient and industrious. Ariane is a great communicator, active listener, and problem solver and intends to apply these qualities in the pursuit of always exceeding her client’s expectations.
